Trade-offs and Triumphs

Hello, friends!

Time flows on - it feels like it should still be March, but here we are in August.

August 11 is my dad’s 75th birthday.

Birthdays can be a moment to pause and to reflect on trade-offs and triumphs.

None of us know how much time we have for ourselves and to each other.

Take this time to:

  • Give your undivided attention to the people you care about.

  • Listen to the people that you love.

  • Be present.

Remember that the memories you create with loved ones will remain in your head and heart forever, and will not be retrievable on Google.

Thank you, dad, for all the trade-offs and mistakes you made to create memories like this below.

Happy Birthday, Dad.

Thought of the Week

@RobbieCrab, thanks for inspiring this thought of the week.

“Experience cannot be Googled,” but neither can trials, trade-offs, and triumphs.

Because every experience, trial, trade-off, and triumph is not on Google.

It is in you.

Air conditioning versus fresh air

How to Fight Disease in the 1880s: Fresh Air: My mom still hates the air conditioner, and it seems like she had good reason. Is air conditioning truly the triumph of modern society, or did we fail to understand the trade-offs?

See you next week!

And remember to find that trade-off that will lead to that triumph this week, no matter how small, and celebrate it.
